Introduction to Can Tho

Can Tho is Vietnam’s fourth biggest city, with a population of over 1.2 million people as at the year 2011. It is one of the most unique places in the world: the place where, among other marvels, you have a chance to encounter (believe it or not) a floating market.

It is also a place with a unique tropical humid climate that you will definitely find amazing if you are coming from a temperate country.

Can Tho radiates beauty whichever way you look at it. It is located along Hau River and it has canals which are so beautiful that they are actually a tourist attraction in their own right. Can Tho is also home to one of the world’s most elaborate cable-stayed bridges, one that is in fact the biggest in South East Asia. Besides things like its canals and its floating markets, other things that make Can Tho attractive include its people’s warmness, the Pagodas associated with the Buddhists, its cuisine and so much more. Notwithstanding its huge size as a city, Can Tho maintains a certain rustic aura: and this is indeed one more attraction to it. It sounds like a contradiction of sorts, but Can Tho is indeed a huge yet fairly simple, rustic city.
