Main Attractions and Sights in Tacna

One of the few places which may attract the attention of any visitor to Tacna is the Museo Ferruvario situated within the train station.

If you have an interest in old types of steam engines and rolling stock then you can see many wonderful exhibits of such rail equipment (though badly maintained) commonly imported years ago from the UK. Just ring the bell for attention.

The Plaza de Armas is a pleasant place to while away a few hours under the umbrella of many palm trees and pergolas decked by mushroom shaped tops. The Plaza is depicted on the 100 Sole note featuring a huge archway dedicated to the memories of those lost in the War of the Pacific. There is a very patriotic flag raising ceremony conducted every Sunday morning with this in mind also.
