For travel within the country there are three trains daily from Western Morocco from such places as the city of Fez, which is no more than 5½ hours away at a cost of either 158 or 108 Dirham depending on whether you travel 1st or 2nd class. North Africa is increasingly becoming a popular place to visit as a tourist, especially the country of Morocco and its many cities and places of interest. One such city is the city of Oujda located in the N.East of the country and situated about 34 miles south of the Mediterranean Sea and 9 miles west of Algeria. Currently it is the capitol of the Oriental region of Morocco giving a home to 450.000 inhabitants, and perhaps paradoxically is the homeland of the present President of Algeria, its neighboring country, Abdelaziz Boutelflika.
