Introductions to Kolding

Located in Southern Jutland, Kolding is a small city at the mouth of Kolding fjord. Kolding is considered a central location within Denmark and often, used as a hub to visit other destinations, in Denmark.

Kolding is believed to have existed during the 12th century and several Stone Age archaeological exhibits have been excavated here.

The construction of the Kolding Castle and a Franciscan Monastery spurred growth in the resident population until the 17th century wars fought between Germany and Sweden. Subsequently, the town slowly progressed, when in the 19th century, it began establishing itself as an industrial center – tobacco, brewery, textile plants and agriculture center.
