The Royal Palace is one of the major attractions in Phnom Penh which is worth visiting. Built in 1813, the palace contains several buildings; the Throne Hall, which is the place used for the coronation of the kings or for conducting any traditional ceremonies, such as a venue for dance performances, ‘Khemarin’, the official residence of the King and the Silver Pagoda, whose flooring is constructed from 5,000 silver tiles, each weighing 1kg. Getting around in Phnom Penh

The city of Phnom Penh is moderately developed with decent roads for the main streets, while the smaller streets and footpaths are ridden with potholes and garbage. Self driven cars are not recommended in this region for two reasons; one, the traffic congestion is quite a bit and two, the traffic is unorganized and dangerous, especially if you are unfamiliar to Cambodia.
